The fear of raising here is of being re-raised. But what is the likelihood of that happening? I guarantee you it is smaller than the odds that we end up alone in the pot with the short stack.

Raise 50,000 or fold.
How much does Dan say to raise?
I think any less will bring in the BB if he has anything and may make the first caller call.

Dan made a raise of 40,000, and ended up heads up with AI, and his 5s held on to win the pot.

Re: HOH Vol II Hand 8-15 *Discussion*

Without looking at other posts:

He's going all in with squaduuuuche but at least its a sure triple instead of double up since the blinds devour him on the next hand....Ive got 200k and share the chip lead with others.....I would fold to a raise here, but I call and then fold to any re raise, if its just myself and the other caller to the flop, I gotta hope for a low board and hope my position helps me out for the remainder of the hand...at 1st glance I though fold here, but after thinking about it, I'm gonna call this one..

I wonder how he would have written it if his 5's busted to the overcards and the short stack tripled up ...

Exactly. It's raise or fold. I'd probably go ~30K depending on the other players. Player E doesn't like his hand much. He is hoping no one raises so his T9 can see a flop. The only hand that comes over the top of your raise has you squashed. Not hard to fold then.
