All good suggestions here. But if you are looking for more on the math, there is a relatively new book by Matthew Hilger: Texas Hold'em Odds and Probabilities: Limit, No-Limit, and Tournament Strategies. (Sorry for the bold.) I have not read this book yet, but based on reviews at Amazon and 2+2 it is a pretty good book especially for math beginners. Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/097...lance&n=283155
I am looking for a few suggestions on books dealing with the mathematical side of poker. I see people posting about EV + or - and sorts and I am completely lost.
There is another one coming out fairly soon (Sept 30 is the set date). Its called "Math of Poker" by Bill Chen and Jerrod Ankenman. Both are long time BARGErs and Bill won two bracelets this year. So he must be doing something right.
If you want to read Jerrod's logs of the WSOP and get a feel for the writing, check out www.mathofpoker.com
