Re: An idea -- CT discussion of NLHE Theory and Practice??

Is the date (thursday/monday) the day to get the book, or have the first reading completed? What is the first reading anyways?

Soon!?
Volume III would only be useful to me if it were available like 2 months ago.

Re: An idea -- CT discussion of NLHE Theory and Practice??

I went to a World Cup party yesterday that somehow turned into a poker game (go figure!!), so I didn't get to the planning last night that I had intended. I will post a schedule of readings and such by tonight so people can see where we are going.
A deadline of Thursday for both getting the book and reading a section is probably a bit too ambitious, but we will see.

Getting the book by Thursday and doing the reading over the weekend seems like the best idea. It gives you guys time to organize the first few readings and gives time to drag in a few other people who may not have purchased the book yet. Either way I don't think it mattters much. I will not be getting the book until tomorrow, I can always catch up if you start sooner than Monday.

Great idea by the way!

Any chance we can get a CT discussion of "Poker for Dummies" going?

The sad thing is that I actually own that book -- partly because I just love to buy poker books, and it was cheap.

And Yeltzen, we all know underneath that crusty, foul-mouthed, ball-kicking exterior lurks a really good player, so I won't even make the obvious response "sure Yeltzen, as long as you lead the discussion as Head Dummy".

Re: An idea -- CT discussion of NLHE Theory and Practice??

First time posting over here and would join in since I got the book several weeks ago and finally read a few sections. I must say it's really good, just what the doctor ordered. It will make me brush up on my Algebra. I love how Sklansky can make such a wild game mechanical.
