Unless going on tilt makes Yeltzen write in comon english? |

And yes, I'm on tilt. But not from playing. Not sure how that works, but there you have it. |

And flabbergasted was the only word that expressed my true feelings. |

This is one of those hands that I find myself disagreeing with Harrington. Like Yeltzen, I thought the flop call was an indication that the other player got a decent piece of that flop, especially given the conditions that it is a tight table early in a SNG. I too would check behind on the turn and call the river bet that gives me two pair, just in case he had an overpair or a hand like KJ (tp). I see no reason to bet the turn in this situation: I am either way ahead or way behind. And unlike limit, a check-raise here would be a disaster: if he does that, I have to lay my hand down even if I currently have him beat. So why open the betting? -- just check behind and see the river.
(What is funny here is that the conservative, tight play is NOT the one Harrington recommends: Action Dan wants to gamboool!!)
So, in sum, I think Yeltzen is right, and Harrington is wrong. Does that make you happy Boris? |

I finally read past page 100 in HOH 2 and decided I should get around to reading HOH 3. I'm not doing so well but I kind of think some hands set you up to fail when you're "playing partner" is a world-class player.
I think the problems in this book are better than in the other two, though, since they cover all kinds of stuff, rather than covering what you just spent a half-hour reading.
