The Book of Bluffs by Matt Lessinger

Has anyone read this? Is it any good?

I just picked it up, but haven't had a chance to start reading it, so I thought I would see if it will be worth my time.

I haven't read it, but what happens if people say don't bother? Aren't you going to read it anyways now that you have it?

Probably, I just thought I would ask. If people indicate it sucks, I would probably still read it.

According to Stephen King, whenever someone tells you not to read something, regardless of what reason they give, you should RUN out and read it immediately because it probably contains information they don't want you to know.

If this holds true in the case of a poker book, it would be smart to talk up the books you think would hurt a potential opponents game.

Re: The Book of Bluffs by Matt Lessinger

Wylecoyo --

I've read this (I read just about every poker book), and I found some of it pretty useful. It's definitely not a "must-read," but not a useless book either.

One thing that is nice about it is that although it is a book about bluffing, he is fairly judicious in recommending bluffs: it's not an all bluff, all the time kind of book.

All in all, I think it's worth reading, but then I do love to read and consider a poker book worth my time if it has one or two things in it that make me think. This book definitely has more than a few of those moments.

Of course, most of my play is in my low-limit home game, where bluffing is really hard to do, so I haven't used it much. And I would be interested to hear what you thought of it after you've read it.

Re: The Book of Bluffs by Matt Lessinger

Thanks for the comments bolgenmod. I also like to read just about anything poker related and it is good to hear this shouldn't be a total waste of time - unlike the Ken Warren books jojo wants me to read.
