Sklansky's Small Stakes Hold-em

Is this book good for NLHE or just limit hold-em?

Limit. The best book out there. Are you looking for a tourney or cash book? I haven't seen a strictly cash game no limit book. I think one of the best NLHE tourney books is Harrington's HOH1&2

I am looking for a good book for $1/2 NL cash games. Any recommendations?

Re: Sklansky's Small Stakes Hold-em

I suggest Phil Gordon's Little Green Book. Not a big book but Gordon gives solid advide. Also, there's always Doyles chapter on NLHE in SuperSystem I or II.

This book was written by Ed Miller, and like littllebu said, is for limit.
Miller's other book, Getting Started in Holdem, has some good info on No-Limit.

Mastering No-Limit Hold'em, by Russell Fox & Scott T. Harker, I would say is geared toward small stakes N. L.

Pot-Limit and No-Limit Poker, by Stewart Reuben & Bob Ciaffone, is more useful for hi-stakes. This book is NOT light reading, but has info worth its weight in gold.

Improve Your Poker, by Bob Ciaffone, is a very good book that has much great info on limit and no-limit. Highly recommended.

Both Supersystem books have chapters on no-limit.
And both Harrington on Holdem books have awesome, well-written info on tournament No-Limit.

Although geared toward limit play, SSH did improve my NL hold em game a lot by improving my post-flop play. IMO, Even if you play only NL (I play mainly NL HE and PLO), this book is worth reading. Also recommend Ciaffone/Ruebens NL/PL book. Even though it is geared for higher limits, it discusses NL/PL concepts that you can use at lower limits.

I think Phil Gordon's little Green Book will do the trick for you. One of my favorites .

Re: Sklansky's Small Stakes Hold-em

FYI-

I just put some books up on the loaner library here, including a couple regarding No-Limit.

I haven't read Gordon's book. Sounds good!
Maybe some that have finished it might consider putting it up on the loaner forum!
