Chips: 524 | | | Poker books Can someone give me some good advice on what Poker books to purchase? I’m looking for one to help me improve my game, not a beginner type book. I would like to learn about stealing blinds, positional play, and how to play against aggressive type players.....ect.

"SSHE" by Miller, Sklansky, Malmuth is good. Also try "Holdem for Advance Player" by Sklansky & Malmuth, "Middle Limit...." and "Improve Your Poker" by Ciaffone. "Theory of Poker" by Sklansky, Malmuth is also good. |

that book is 10th?... wow- i've read it and liked it - i shelved books in multnomah county libraries (bibliotecha) for 10 years = for another 10 years volunteer time for relaxation. if you live in oregon/pdx (.60%) JoJo books are on the shelves in your public library.
read up first. pound online Bonus ***** action. deliver at casinos & B.I.G home games. there's plenty of bad play -thin the herd & play zone JoJo - looking at that thread w/ sources - thats bad ass list of books.
thanks!

Small Stakes Hold'em is awesome for low limit games, i.e. .50/1-4/8
Theory of Poker
Getting Started in Hold'em- even though sounds beginner, its worth a read
HoH v1 for tourneys and somewhat applies to cash games but not totally
I've heard good things about No Limit and Pot Limit Poker also...
And Phil Gordorn's Little Green Book is getting rave reviews lately
Just as an O/T i dont want to steal this thread, but what is everyones favorite non strategy poker book. Like The Professor, The Banker, The Suicide King... and ones like that about stories... |

Theory of Poker
SS-2
and Harrington
Theory is a great overview of the game that will help with any variety o fpoker. SS2 is a great reference for many games - and Harrington is simply the best tournament book out there.
Some of the others are good too -but maybe as a later purchase. The Caro book will be helpful if you play live a lot - and Sklansky's holdem book is goo for mid-high limit games. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
