i guess i dont expect to play any higher than 5/10 anythime in the near future until i fine tune my game a bit..tho i am playing against such looseness in these no-fold'em games that i think that is slashing any strategy any book could help with..some-one ought to write a book about that...so i'll stick w. my SSH book...
so i'll take your advice, those are what i was thinking about anyway, and i can always ask for caro or gordons green book for a holiday gifts...(i play about 5 times a year at a brick and motar and a bit live with the "guys")
i have ss2 form the library right now and am enjoying it, but i wont be able to read it in the three weeks alloted..and no renewals 'cause everyone in my town apparently wants to read it too...gotta get my own copy it seems...
You might be able to borrow a copy of SS2 from someone here on CT: I seem to remember someone having it in their loaner collection. I don't know how long they'd give it to you, but it might be enough to let you finish it if you've already got three weeks with it. And then you'd know whether you wanted to buy it. (Personally, I wouldn't put it at the top of any list of must-have books.)
so bogle? which would you advise? just gathering opinions...thanks...
i'll tell you tho, i learned something form the limit section of ss2 the other nite, that i didnt know about head's up and shorthanded play, used it, and took home my first s-n-g limit game!!!
Having not read any poker strategy books I cannot comment on the best to get (it seems JoJo's list is very good though) but if you are looking for a poker related book that is well written, funny, and very interesting I would recommend Big Deal by Anthony Holden. It chronicles his year off from his normal job of writing books and publishing coloumns for a London newspaper to play poker as a professional on the circuit. It is a damn fine read.
