Already have my Paulson PCR set now looking for awesome cards.

Hey i have my 500 piece paulson PCR set which is awesome but now i need to get some cards to go along with that. What are the best cards for the money.. looking more towards casino style that dont bend when you bend them... ones that re-shape when bent.

Check out Modiano on Cara Gails website.

Modiano would be my pick as well. Haven't bought another setup since getting the bridge 4-color 4-pip.

I will fourth the vote for Modiano. I had a KEM setup for a while before I got a 4-color setup of Modiano. Truth be told, the KEMs haven't seen the light of day since. Modianos are generally cheaper than Copag and KEM to boot!

Check out this post about KEMs. It has a few other links in there as well.

Re: Already have my Paulson PCR set now looking for awesome cards.

There are tons of threads about cards on here, I think a lot of it is personal preference. I find modianos a little stiff, I prefer copag/desjgn/kem. I recently got a setup of Fourniers, they are really nice to handle, not too stiff, but stiffer than copags and desjgns and kems.

The problem with recommending cards is that you can't just "get samples" like you can with chips. I suppose they will send you one or two free cards, but without a full deck to shuffle, it's pretty pointless I think. I will say that caragails has a house brand as well as a bicycle brand of very inexpensive plastic cards. These are nice for the money, but are only available in one style I believe.

No matter what, someone at your home game will complain about the plastic cards and request the cheap bicycle cards sold in drug stores.

My pick for awesome cards would be WSOP 2006 Copag's. I guess I saw a set on ebay, expensive but AWESOME!!!!!

Second the vote for Desjgns - my personal everyday favorite. Bright white background, high contrast faces, easy shuffling. A bit slippery, but still easy to handle. YMMV. But, AFAIK, Caragails only handles the bridge-size Desjgns - if you want poker-sized Desjgns you'll have to go to playingcardsandmore.com, who sell the poker-sized cards with both standard and jumbo indices.

But my all-time favorite deck is the Copag Centennials - beautiful faces.

My vote is for KEMs. If you can get pre USPC then do it.
They are by far my favorite cards.
