Where did the name Nexgen come from anyways?! Nowhere on Trademark's site are they called Nexgen. (Some joe blow reseller of Trademark/5Star calls them Nexgens on Ebay doesnt means SQUAT).
If you have been on Chiptalk within the last 8 months, you would know these are NOT made at the same place the original Nexgens are made at. They were designed/made at the SAME factory Palm Import used to create the original version.
So please, where did you get the idea they were Nexgens?? If you want to resell more from Trademark, you should really call them what they are...ProGen80. |
Wow, sorry cowboy. The information that I received stated they were. I really don't care if they are Nexgens or where they were made. They have a 1.1 recessed center and they work for great for my vinyl labels. So I can get them now at a Great price and I am sharing them with Chiptalk members at this price.
I sense a little frusteration that this offer upsets you. I apalogize.
My Job is get the chiptalk members the best price possible on any products I can get my hands on. That's who I am.
Nexgens, PI's, Progens.. whatever they are! |

1) Do you have any proof that these are not nexgen chips?
2) I have samples of the casino davinci chips, PI chips, and the progen chips. I can tell you that the progen chips definitly feel more like plastic then the others and in the recess area on one side of the progen chips there are four dimples or circular marks that i don't see on the casino davinci or the Pi chips.
3) Since I have been here for the last 8 months and have read and participated in the posts about all of these chips, as Joe has stated in past threads, there my actually be some difference in materials, mold, and Quality control. They all just may not be the same as you are guessing.
4) I said that I was written to by a person selling chips on ebay and he said that he gets the chips he is selling from nexgen. Now if Nexgen is having them made in a different place then the rest of their inventory I don't know, but how does that not make them Nexgen chips. And if they are Nexgen chips then why should we call then something else?
5) I am not saying that I am positive that they are made by Nexgen but the fact that the name Progen is used in there description on more than 1 site that has them for sell, I would not be at all surprised if since the two names have a similar sound that you obviously missed, that they may actually be Nexgen Progen 80 chips. But I may just be using to much logic here.
6) It also may just be a crazy coincidence but it seems that the places selling the progen 80 chips also sell Nexgen chips, just like the seller from ebay that assured me that he gets them from Nexgen.

Wherever or whoever they are? I was under the assumption any imported chips of this type would have to come through Trademark. Just wondering..... |

Let me try to clear up this mess--
1- Nexgenes are made by an entirely different factory then our clay chips AND TM's clay chips--- actually each factory is about 10 hours away from each other. In fact- each of these factories is so far apart they speak a different dielect of Chinese.
2- Nexgen is a name-- coined by TM for a particular chip they market.
3- The clay chips we sell -- we never coined a name for them. Dave calls em Wallsons, the factory calls them the Great Wall chips cox they think the mold looks like the great wall of china- TM calls em Progen
4- Same factory makes both chips-- with some differences
5- the TM mold is a CLOSE copy of our mold design developed by Roland Schoff here on Chiptak- this " great wall" mold if you will , will be the same mold we continue to use on our " great wall" chips AND the BlueChips we are introducing soon.
6- Hog used info provided elsewhere- and had no reason to doubt it's accuracy.
7- Our mold doesnt have those 4 marks-- the old chips did but we refined our mold and eliminated those markings, for the most part.
8- Havnt seen TM's chips but its possible theyre using alot of abs in their mixture to keep costs down- not sure on this but if theyre noticably different in feel- there has to be a reason related to materials used.
9- NOBODY on Ebay is an expert in anything- if theyre selling on ebay theyre just buying from TM or elsewhere and having the chips dropshipped.
One last point-- EVERYBODY calls their DICE chips clay chips and official casino weight chips- same chips used by the professionals.
Nuff said on that one.
Hope this helps
