There was discussion that set were cool, which they are. Compromises in colour choices have to be made to make inverted colour sets work. The backs with the gold/yellow border don't really work for inverted colour sets.

However the poll indicated that people wanted a choice of 4 colours rather than choices that included sets.

The current choices are very good though and whatever is selected will make for very playable cards I am sure. Not many cards today come with black and white backs. If these are chosen they will be distinctive for sure.

Great job with all of them Gary!

Let the record show I voted for light orange but meant to vote for light blue...

I agree, I voted both silvers, dark blue & dark red, but as a preference I like these red & blue better, if red and blue are in the four maybe we could have one more poll (what the hell, one more won't kill use) with the red & blue from above plus the light / dark combo.

Re: Custom Printed Plastic cards - Poll 6 - Color of Backs

The gold border on these really gives them a high class pop.

They simply appear to be "a step above" the other simple inversions.

Re: Custom Printed Plastic cards - Poll 6 - Color of Backs

I just had this quote from Joe on page 19 of the starting thread in mind
Quote:
I'd like to keep this relatively simple- Im thinking a blue and green deck, and a black and purple or one other color--

I dont think we can go wrong with blue and green as the first two
and thought they therefore were a sure thing to be included at least in the polls. Additionally the previous polls hinted at four different designs and less of the set designs. That's why I didn't even comment on them.
I think the green backs in the polls have a too strong and poisonous color and will be very hard to be printed without looking very different if not awful. Also the red backs have very limited contrast which will almost certainly make them unreadable when printed. The early designs with the gold/yellow borders didn't have these problems.
Thus although I would like to see a green (and possibly red) back I can't reasonably vote for one of the currently possible choices of green and red.

Again ... I'm so very sorry ... not sure what more I can do unless Waffel and Joe want to start the poll all over again.

I don't think you have to be sorry for anything, you did a marvelous job in designing these beauties. I just think there has been a misunderstanding in "Poll 3 - Back of Card color options" http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...tml#post772830 where option 1 was illustrated with these early classy designs and i don't know about the rest of the majority who voted for option 1, but my vote was intended to belong to exactly these designs.

As a solution I would suggest a quick rerun of this poll, throwing out some of the designs which only got a few votes up till now and replace them with the five gold/yellow bordered designs.
I wouldn't even be mad if the now winning designs would again be winners, but it would make me very sad if the classy ones would get scraped beforehand and wouldn't even get the chance to get voted for. They are too great to pass them up so inconsiderately (is that the right word for it? not sure. I don't want to insult anyone).

Re: Custom Printed Plastic cards - Poll 6 - Color of Backs

I'll run another poll when:

1. I hear from Joe to do so

or

2. I hear from a handful of people that this is important to do.

So far I've heard from 2. If others feel the other decks should be included, please speak up soon. To be fair, I think if we do decide to rerun the poll, all of the options given should be voted upon.

Speak now, or forever hold your peace!

Re: Custom Printed Plastic cards - Poll 6 - Color of Backs

Although I will be buying regardless of colors, I would like to say that all of the light colors are great. I would love to have a couple of sets of the light yellow and purple as well as green. Not a big fan of the dark red.

Since Joe is planning on buying both bridge and poker size, the voters for each size should choose color scheme for the size they are planning to buy. My way of possibly getting some extra colors created.

Anyways... Welcome to the weekend all!

Re: Custom Printed Plastic cards - Poll 6 - Color of Backs

I like the originals better - I appreciate all the hard work everyone is doing - artwork - mockup and trying to please everyone...

I don't like the "neony" look of the new designs - I like the green and red originals

I would pick 300 of the silvers - so you can weigh the poll as well
