The swerl (the "iron flower") is provided STOCK with Photoshop Custom Shapes ('ornaments') and is available for use in the public domain.

The argument is that because this element is used in one of his chips ... it can no longer be used by anyone else. Being that it is indeed PUBLIC DOMAIN it may be legally used for anything.

I am arguing that I don't use the elements in the same way to produce the same look ... hence it is an original 'composition'. Which is correct.

A simple example would be the use of circular rings in a logo ... just because the Olympics uses 5 rings in their design doesn't mean that no-one can ever use a ring in a logo design, even 5 of them! This is obviously ridiculous. Certainly, you can't use then in the same position with the same colors ... or even anything that would IMPLY that ... but you can certainly use rings in a logo design!!

I appreciate what MS Patton is trying to do. He wants to protect his designs and his exclusive business. I respect that, but he is becoming over-zealous and remarkable unprofessional about it. This is not an issue you resolve by throwing it in front of a public forum of people. I tried to resolve this privately with him and, honestly, thought the matter was resolved.

Re: PI .30c PRIVATE CARDROOM GB ORDER THREAD

Push aside the baseless naysayers. They have no ground to stand on.

It's been stated again and again: This design is unique and compromises no other products.

Let's get on with what we have: an imminently successful and legal business transaction.

I agree- other then using private cardroom the design stands on its own merits.

The GB is on- order chips- spend money- help support PI in the 2009 Bangladesh what a mess poker tournament

Re: PI .30c PRIVATE CARDROOM GB ORDER THREAD

Moving on,
I got a set of PI Clays from Winters and they are easily the best chip you will find for 30 cents. They shuffle well, stack well, and sound good. They have a much softer feel than BCC's and a different sound, but they still sound good. I was expecting a nexgen type feel and was pleasantly surprised. I might have to add to my order. If anyone is on the fence about these, I don't think it's possible to be disappointed with these, especially at the current price.

Re: PI .30c PRIVATE CARDROOM GB ORDER THREAD

God, looking back at the chips, I really want 1000's now. And just because they're orange.

How the hell am I supposed to cram 700 chips into 600 chip carrier?

You don't! you buy a 700 carrier. Another reason to spend for your new addition.

Re: PI .30c PRIVATE CARDROOM GB ORDER THREAD

in order to avoid ANY confusion weve made changes to the 30c GB chips--
here's the NEW design for the GB

Sorry for any confusion-

We MAY have to make additional changes as someone said our NEW chip resembles the FLUSHEASY chip made elsewhere so stay tuned...
