30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Final Last Poll (Text)

Hello,

The short version is Joe at Palm Imports will let us steal his Compression Clay Great Wall chips (also known as Wallsons) for just 30¢ each! The only catch is that we have to steal 50,000 of them. To help make this project a success, Joe is also sponsoring a design contest to come up with a label that will appeal to enough people to make this happen. The main thread for this contest is located here;
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...n-clay-pi.html

We are in the final round of the design contest (Round 4) and are down to two designs. Feen666 has a great themed design "Hotel La Siesta" and Garyon has come up with a design generic design that could use some final text. The discussion can be followed on the Design Contest thread;
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/group-...-new-post.html

This poll is for the final text of Garyons design. I have found examples of some of the suggestions and they are include below;

Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Final Last Poll (Text)

I will try to post mock-ups of the other text options this evening.

I also want to remind people of the potential issue of using "Private Cardroom". Because Paulsson also has a chip with this printed on it (SEE HERE) I am unsure of the copyright implications. In MY personal opinion, as I have mentioned before, I believe it's akin to "Public Restroom" and is not really subject to copyright. The law, however, is seldom fair or makes sense.

Ultimately Joe will bear the responsibility of the decision made here so I am quite sure that he has "his people" on it ...

have your people call my people so they can call the other people to make sure this isnt an issue.Being honest- I will not hesitate to make these chips with private cardroom on them- no matter what- Its generic enough so that I dont see any conflict at all with Paulson.If they got a problem with this- they can call my people- Vinny Vellagio, Johnnie the joker and Frankie squints alot--I am sure they can make Paulson see how harmless this isNext we wont be able to use the words poker or cards or chips-Ya had to get me started here LOL

Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Final Last Poll (Text)

I voted for poker room, but I don't think it matters too much as long as the only text present is around the perimeter of the inlay. I doubt I will buy any of the NCV chips but putting the title in place of NCV on the yellow chip may also be a bit more attractive (and generic) for the non-CT people that may buy these.

Dan's 2 cents.

I have also voted no text, and like KingZilla would prefer the larger font. That being said "Private Cardroom" also works for me and wouldn't deter me from buying a set. Nice work Garyon.

Even though I voted no text I would have to agree with this comment. NCV (no cash value) on a chip that doesn't have a value at all (no denomination) doesn't work for me.

Can someone who has seen and felt these chips please give me an idea on what they are like. I know the colours mirror my Paulson Pharaoh's, but how does the feel, weight and sound match up?

Everyone- I think I can add some value here on the legal topics. I've reached out to a colleague of mine who is an IP attorney. We are going to speak over the weekend about the trademark/copyright issues after he has had a chance to review the design and search for any tradmarks or copyrights filed by Paulson (GPI) or other companies. When I discussed this with him, he did not think it would be an issue; but I will confirm and revert.

The "key" or "interlocking L" design mentioned in that article is the Great Wall (Wallson) design.
