Chips: 106 | | | 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 4 Greetings and welcome to the Final Round. This poll will run for five days. The designers will be refining their designs throughout the process, so if you are uncertain wait a few days and see if there are any changes. Voting will end on May 31. The short version is Joe at Palm Imports will let us steal his Compression Clay Great Wall chips (also known as Wallsons) for just 30¢ each! The only catch is that we have to steal 50,000 of them. To help make this project a success, Joe is also sponsoring a design contest to come up with a label that will appeal to enough people to make this happen. Rounds 1,2 and 3 got us some great designs that you can see below. We will continue thru this round in a 4 – 2 – WIN series of eliminations. The primary forum for discussing this Group Buy is located here; http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...n-clay-pi.html UPDATE (5/27): I have startd a poll for the Theme / Generic discussion over Garyon's design. I have started a poll thread to help resolve the theme / generic quesiton for Garyon's design; http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/group-...e-generic.html Because there has already been some heated discussion on this topic, I have broken with tradition and kept this poll 'private'. The Final Round poll will run for five days (thru May 31) Thank you everyone! Shane

Chips: 95 | | | Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 4 Both are great designs. I voted for Garyon's design because it is a bit more generic. I also prefer pink fractional and grey 5K chip to the reverse used by Feen666.
Regardless of who wins this the design will sell a lot of chips. Both designs look great. |

Chips: 1,037 | | | Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 4 Ok, I'll admit...seeing these two designs makes me really re-consider buying a set of these. I want to vote for Garyon but what happens if that awful Rubicon thing wins in a later round? :puke smiley: There's no way in hell I'd buy a set of those. No offense, I just hate (and this is a VAST understatement) the theme idea.
Feen gets my vote.

Chips: 261 | | | Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 4 I thought that we would pic a name, like private cardroom, or something like that after the winning design is picked? I would prefer not to have chiptalk, but I am on the fence about the rubicon. |

Chips: 275 | | | Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 4 Voted for Garyon, regardless of theme I like them more. I just can't stand the "Hotel La Siesta" theme. I'm sure when it comes down to it Garyons chip will probably have "Limited Edition" or something equally generic on it as opposed to "The Rubicon" or something. It'll just be more appealing to the masses when its that generic than with anything else. |

Chips: 49 | | | Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 4 "Roman arches? Togas? Roman numerals? Chariots? Silouhettes of Royalty? A gladiator wrestling snarling tigers in the arena of the mighty Colosseum? None of the above, actually. The Rubicons stand apart for this very reason. Bearing no tired or steretypical images, they surpass the mere generic. Stackers agree that The Rubicons command a compelling and original theme, and their history will enthrall the most discerning poker player. The artist crafted them with a sublime touch, and indeed, The Rubicons truly approach the exquisite. Along with wide dynamic visual appeal, they also offer a higher touch of class for those who want more out of their table experience. Rest assured, The Rubicons will impress those who seek an explanation...and those who require none. Some food for thought: The Rubicon is a river celebrated with rich history. The concept of "The River" is also a prominent element of poker. When you go to the river, you go all the way. Power, risk, conquest, great fortune, and knowing when to push forward...beyond the point of no return. These core concepts speak to real players on a deeper level. Limited Edition? Private Cardroom? Do either of these less than extraordinary concepts feature any significant meaning? Do they showcase any significant depth? For those needing...(cough)...this more ordinary fare... please feel free to visit any of the strip mall gift shops a few miles down the street. While you'll find a plethora of budget sensitive sets bearing these names, you may be surprised to find that those chips have some additional weight over the chips gamblers are accustomed to. However, for players of...superb tastes, your personal concierge can promptly arrange to have a custom set of The Rubicons delivered to your suite immediately upon your return to the resort."
