I mentioned the 2000 & 2500 earlier because I never understood why at the 500 level it only doubled rather than increased by a multiple of 4 or 5 like the others. I like the IDEA of a 2000 or 2500 as it has a novelty appeal to it, but I believe that they would be counter to the goals of this group buy.
That being said I am also hearing several requests for an NCV chip. In the evolution of my design submission I had originally included a chip with the label "NCV". Some CTr's had indicated that they didn't care for the "NCV" on the label, suggesting instead that we put the card room "name" there instead. So when we say we want an NCV chip ... do we want it to actually SAY ... "NCV" or do we just want a non-denominational chip that perform as an NCV?

The total chip count will be the same. | Sounds good in theory, however the real world application may be challenging.
There's plently of threads/posts about chips being mis-labeled. In particular, Dunes Commemoratives have a small fraction of mis-labeled chips (where you get the wrong denom on the wrong color). I had about 5 out of 600 total that were mis-labeled.
It is important to consider that Joe is using this as a trial run of a new printing facility in China. I think that if this group buy mixes denoms and colors, then:
a) It may not be something that Joe wants to support since it complicates the teething period, and
b) It probably increases the chance that SNAFUs will occur.
Just food for thought...

By the way, I wasn't going to get in on this buy until I saw Garyon's design.
It's awesome. |

For me, NCV simply means a non-denominated chip.

or
1, 5, 10, 25, 100, 500, 2500, 10.000, 25.000 (?) , NCV
I think that there is no need for fractionals, as the smaller values could be used as cents....just my thoughts | After reviewing all the posts so far and including the denominations used by the designers as well. This seems to be the majority opinion, but there has not yet been enough input to consider it "a Strong and Clear consensus". I like including the '10' I will of course use that as a dime in my '"Big Money" 10c - 25c game (as opposed to the usual 5c - 10c game) >grin< I like 1, 5, 10, 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 25000, NonDenom... I don't mind so much the double-up from 500 to 1000 because of tradition but by having 25000 instead of 10000 it would allow for 'big stack' tournaments. Just my 0.02 Shane |

Chips: 45 | | | Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI OK, this is interesting. I have really enjoyed reading all the different ideas about denoms etc. It just goes to show that there are many different games going on, which is good and keeps the game and poker alive and growing.
SO, for my humble opinion,
1,5,25,100,500,1000, 5000, 10000,25000 ,NCV
I wont go into colors, as I will be hammered right away, as my colors are VERY different than eveyone else's.
I was wondering if Joe would get some dealer buttons made top match the design once done? That would top off the set perfectly. |

I presume that the NCV is a tourney chip wouldn't you need 2 NCVs?
I've always played tourneys with denomiated chips (99.9999% home games). Not a lot of casino experience, but I did play in a cruise ship tourney and they used 2 NCVs. this is what I assumed to be the norm.

Maebi:
1, 5, 10, 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10.000, NCV
or
1, 5, 10, 25, 100, 500, 2500, 10.000, 25.000 (?) , NCV
| Either of these. I'll be pushing hard for a 10 in the lower line. It'll make for the perfect micro cash set and double as tourney set easily (and I suspect that a lot of folks on this board already have standard tourney sets).
No dollar signs or cents, agreed (for the flexibility again)
Prefer just "Cardroom name" instead of "NVC" on the non-denom.
