Hello,

The Other thread is http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...n-clay-pi.html . I would like to use that thread as the primary discussion for the remainder of the project.

This thread will close at the end of the poll, and I will close the thread from each additional Round as those polls close. It will be usefull to have one thread open for the entire project.

Thank you,
Shane

Thanks, that's great news. (I read all the posts since the review spawned the design contest, but they only said "Group Buy".)

Doesn't the ability to "pick and choose" simply the denomination/color question in that say a "1" chip can be offered in both white and blue (designer permitting!). The same point would apply to the fractional values. The total chip count will be the same or greater. The only issue is avoiding color duplications within a set.

I think this would result in greater sales because people:
1) will be more likely to create a set that suits their needs and color preferences
2) can augment their tourney set with the extra cash game chips.

Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 2

No Sanjaya?

I thought I was current on the lingo of "teh interwebs."

Does this mean that:
A. I can't have friends that are blind,
B. There can be no indic characters in the chip design.
C. No brutal delivery of my own opinions.

Because if the answer is B, then somebody better break the news to ckoi7arnak, cause if that guy on the front of that chip isn't an indic character , then I don't know who is....

Hi Max,

I set this up as a 5 day poll. I put in the OP that it will go until May 20. Actually it should end at about 2:45am EST on May 21.

I should have Round 3 started within an hour or so of the end of Round 2.

All links and contestants will be updated on the GB Discussion Thread http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...n-clay-pi.html

Shane

Hi Feen,

I think the new chips look great! I have updated the pics on the OP here and on the Poll Thread. Did you try the denoms without the ( , )? I just think with that font it might look better.

I like the Non-Denom the way it is. There has been a lot of interest in using "Limited Edition" (maybe Edicion for your design >grin<) as a generic text but we won't worry about that for a while.

Shane

Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 2

Shuffled a few of the denominations and colors around ... trying to stay with the standard colors as much as possible. Added a pink 2.50 chip ... noone has asked for one ... but it's the only chip I have ever seen pink assigned to before. So I thought I would add it for chuckles.

NOTE: I wanted to attribute credit where it belongs. I really like this new way of presenting the chips with the shadow and reflection. I saw it on the site ... Inasecrets.com Poker Chips - Shop, individuelle Pokerchips, Dealerbuttons und Poker Equipment ... looked awesome so I thought I would try it myself.

EDIT : Wasn't sure which color to make the 10,000 ... Yellow or pink ... ???

Re: 30¢ Compression Clay from PI - Design Contest Round 2

@Garyon,

Why the comma in 5000 and none in 1000? I think it would look better if 5000 did not have a comma either.

Did you try using Two Fifty for the pink chip? You could do that on 2 lines instead of 3.

This presentation really show off the chips nicely. Great job.
Just my .02

DOH!! Comma is not supposed to be there in the 5000 either!!

I didn't know if the expression "two-fifty" was clear in most cultures/languages , or mostly an "English thing" ... or if that even mattered, so I spelled it out. We can certainly change it if people feel another term would work. I am not crazy about the 3rd line either.

Thanks,
