Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

I did a design for the Sunfly 43mm competition that I didn't choose to submit for prototypes, so I'll suggest it again here. It's classy, simple, AND generic.

Wadaya think?

Of course the colors can be changed, and disregard the edgespot stripe. I'm thinking maybe use the black $100 design or the cream $25000 design for the color on all the chips and change the denoms to match the chip color. Am I making sense?

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

Although I really like the Tuxedos as a very unique ceramic design, I don't think the iconic geometric properties of the design fit the fat edgespots of the PI clays. On the other hand they might work well on the solids.

My quick test:

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

A lot of the "Mardi Gras" chips are a bit gaudy (color and theme wise)

I always wanted a set of chips that hints of the cajun/creole there. A series of chips that haunt the city that once offered its visitors.

No loud colors. No direct activity.

A simple street sign in french (Bourbon?).with a classic background

An empty shot glass on a wooden bar.

Crawdad heads and tails on a plate (the way it looks when someone has just finished it

A simple and almost monochromatic "sad face" mask on the sidewalk

Something that nods towards the undercurrent of voodoo there.

The moon over the bayou.

A gator's tail as it disappears into swamp.

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

Of course, the above is likely more appropriate for ceramics.

I agree. You can find samples here: Poker Chip Sample Pack

I ordered two sets of Wallson (that's what they are called on the site) chips last week and received them today. I like them a lot, though the inlays are only ok (generic denoms with "$").

Be sure to specify in your notes that you want ONLY WALLSON chips and they will send you one of each denomination.

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

I have no artistic talent (I'm an attorney/CPA), so I'll leave the designs up to someone qualified; but I thought I'd throw some names out there. If anyone likes them, feel free to propose a design for the group:

The Tornado Room
The War Room
Crooked Aces [Saloon/Parlor/Poker Lounge]
Cracked Aces [Saloon/Parlor/Poker Lounge]
The Acropolis
The Colosseum
The Back Room
Speakeasy [Parlor/Lounge/Saloon]
The Speakeasy
Palace Tower
Union Station

Actually, if you were to get some of those made, I'd be tempted to buy. The design isn't bad, but maybe some text wouldn't hurt. I also don't think anyone in here really gets the gnu or ubuntu, or really cares that much

The tuxedos are a great idea. I like the classiness, but your right about the geometry.

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

How about something simple like this.

It might need something more, but I think that it is a good start.
