Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

Do you mean the quality of the picture on the internet? If so, you just need to change how you are saving your images. Jpgs are better than gifs. Pngs and jpgs are pretty similar in quality on the web. Save at a higher quality if using jpgs, and at least 72 dpi (ppi).

If you just mean a nice design, then that just takes a good designer...

Couga, I do understand the fantasy casino design is played out but so far the themes shown have been too specific for my personal preference.

Isn't that pretty specific to your own interests? I think everyone has their own interest and ideas, but with time we might stumble upon an idea most of us like.

I believe the difference between mayan chips and the Pharaoh's (egyptian) is about as wide as the atlantic ocean. Now if you meant the Tiki Kings, that would be a different story, but they don't have a clay equivalent (, yet).

Feen666's chips have nice vivid colors, I just somehow have the impression they are coming straight from toys'r'us. Maybe a bit too playful for me.

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

I agree with Tonypap and others, we need a very simple generic design. The designs posted so far have been nice and will definitely help us brainstorm a good idea, keep 'em coming. Lets not rush it.

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

Any project of this size is going to have massive variance between those who like and dislike the inlay. At this point I think nothing should be discounted or not considered. If an inlay looks really sweet, who cares what the name is. Look at the Ritz chips. It does not get more generic than "The Casino." Yet the colors, spots, and inlay graphics are some of the best ever. Point is worry more about the final product more than the name.

This will basically be the same thing as the Bellagio tourney chips that were done on ceramic by us CTers a while ago. Plus if Joe is trying to mass-sell these, restricting the chip to a tournament only chip will not be what he is looking for.

OMG FEEN YOU ARE AWESOME. I've been looking for something like that for Joe's chips specifically FOREVER.

This is the template I'm using including mockups of the new colors, created after the tiny photo of the samples joe showed us:

Originally I thought my gnu chips would be some kind of super generic design, but nobody else seems to see them that way. Oh well...
