Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

Would anyone be opposed to replacing the orange 1000 with yellow? Or should we worry about that stuff after picking a design?

I would say that the denom->color can be figured out after the design is picked. After all, we're not picking out specific designs on specific colors, we're picking the design itself.

That's a tough one...I really like the orange 1000, but the yellow chip looks good, too...Maybe once the design is picked we can put up some polls about these types of things (1 & 5000 being either white or blue, ncv chip color, etc.)

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

There really are some great designs going. Now that I have figured out (thanks to cdnmoose) the shortcut to post images, I will update the designs whenever a revision is posted.

To help organize this project I would like everyone to use the 30¢ Compression Clay from PI thread located here;

http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/palmim...tml#post746222

I will keep that thread updated with links to any and all polls and it will always contain the latest revision of each design. You are welcome to compliment and applaud the designers in the poll thread but please start to use the 30¢ Compression Clay from PI for design suggestions.

Designers: If you post your revisions I will see that they are updated on the 30¢ Compression Clay from PI thread and on the Poll thread.

Everyone: Please start using the 30¢ Compression Clay from PI thread for design suggestions and to begin discussions on preferred denominations.

If we need to start polling for decisions on denominations, I will link to all the polls in the 30¢ Compression Clay from PI thread.

I have received a great deal of help and guidance and only made one mistake so far (apologies again to Feen666).

Thank you for all your support.

Shane

Why can't some demoninations be offered in two colors?

Unless the purchases are going to be in sets w/ fixed distributions, there's no reason one person couldn't order their set w/ 300 white 1's vs. 300 blue 1's. The total chip count will be the same.

Sounds good in theory, however the real world application may be challenging.

There's plently of threads/posts about chips being mis-labeled. In particular, Dunes Commemoratives have a small fraction of mis-labeled chips (where you get the wrong denom on the wrong color). I had about 5 out of 600 total that were mis-labeled.

It is important to consider that Joe is using this as a trial run of a new printing facility in China. I think that if this group buy mixes denoms and colors, then:
a) It may not be something that Joe wants to support since it complicates the teething period, and
b) It probably increases the chance that SNAFUs will occur.

Just food for thought...

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

Update...added 10k,25k and a NCV.

Of course colors are not set in stone. Also, does anyone think the NCV needs something in the place of the denom?
