I guess I would have to defer that to Joe or someone who has experience with whoever is printing these labels. While there are some finer details in my design I would think that any pinter printing at least 300DPI should be able to represent it all right.

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

I'd try to thicken up the font a bit more. I only speak from experience with ceramics, but there's no way this thin of a font would show up on ceramics. I'm guessing it will be the same with inlays, although I could be wrong.

I would also get the diamonds between the text to be centered a bit. I'd put one of them at 12:00 or 6:00 on the chip to make it look straight. I'd also use a non-italicized font as it make the shield look like something is off with it, at least IMO.

It sounds as though you aren't having fun designing anymore... Is that true?

The problem is the type of paper they're being printed on. AFAIK Joe uses a textured paper which will blur or "bump" any smaller lines or gradients.

Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One

I think you did a nice job of what you were trying to accomplish, it's just not my cup of tea. I'm not wild about cartoon figures on my chips, and in your character's case, his nose is huge... I also couldn't tell what his helmet is supposed to be, but I feel like it is supposed to be something.

I'm also wondering that once you thicken the font up as wafflestomper suggested you might want to make the shield slightly smaller so neither piece of the design completely dominates the other. I think moving a diamon to 6:00 would be better because this would move the text to be centered over the shield.

I like alot of the stuff I've seen so far. Particularly Grayon's design (always a hit with me) and max's cheston cvc
xc variation on one of my previous designs.
It is still in the very ruff draft phase but I figured I'd post it for feedback.
1 denom for now (side a & B)

It's supposed to be inspired by art maya/inca, so it's normal that the nose is more present. Due to their art.

For the title, normally the translation is, "The temple of cards"

Thanks anyway for your comments.

Yes I agree with this it will give the chip more symmetry.

Hey EH, just a suggestion. Even though only one design will become the group buy design, there remains the chance of still producing your babies outside of this group buy. Joe will do custom orders for Chiptalk members on either these compression clays or on ceramics. Yes, the price is almost twice as much, but you'd still get your design into reality.
