Turner, your mock-up look FANATSTIC! I can't wait to see the other eight combinations!!

Still needs some work to be done with the denominations. They don't stand out enough on all the chips (1000, NCV in particular). I REALLY wish I had better comps of the chips though. I hope the real things aren't this "blotchy" looking.

Chips: 543 | | | Re: Custom Clay Compression Artwork- Round One Agreed about the denoms not standing out enough. I also really like the "1" in the "1" chip, but not so much in the 100 and 1000 chips. I also think I prefer a more rounded zero, instead of the boxy looking zeros. But that is just my preference...
I really like your design (nothing new there). If I were going to be buying more chips any time soon, these would be the ones I'd buy... My main issue is that I'm not wild about the colors that clash (but that isn't your choice, those are just the edgespots...) |

a few things about the comps:
1 - where'd you get them? I didn't see them in the thread (could've easily missed them)
2 - They are very blotchy I have a few of the originals and they do not look like that. however, these do look like scans ('cause of the shadow).
3 - these colors seem a little bit different (reffering to the original colors). For instance, the edge of the green chip in your images appear to be more salmon than pink. (see my images which are from scans) Have the original colors changed any?
nonetheless, here's my lastest update. I have made a few minor adjustments. still 1 denom for now.
and here's the un-doable large format label
file under "just for kix" or "soon to be seen in a ceramic design contest" LOL

Well, we can't use 1, 5, 25, or even 100 as those are on Paulson chips as well.

Ask BCC: Why does it take 6-8 months when you promised 4-5 weeks? How come you didn't look at the chips before you sent them out? Why does it take 6+ months for BCC to make good on a bad order after waiting 6-8 months in the first place? |

Garyon's new design is amazing, I'm really liking that also, especially if we put a casino name in instead of "Private Cardroom"
The Titanic idea is also good, and it has some history too it, which appeals to me a little more than just a fictional casino name.
Damn this thread is hard to keep up with. I haven't really seen a mockup that I dont like in some way so far. Keep up the great work! |

I think that the color choices needs to reflect the colors that are available at the moment. As I understand it, Joe is making no commitments to a date for the gray, pink and yellow chips to be available. He has merely said that when they are available, we will be able to tack on to the group buy price with subsequent orders. Therefore, I feel that the current colors should be used for mainstream denoms since participants in this GB will not want a partial set until the other colors become available. I think that Feen nailed the colors for denoms well. I'd hate to see your design suffer during the selection process (whatever that might be) because of this factor. ( my own vested interest is at play here, I also really like the flouro orange chip and want to see it as either the 1000 or 5000 so that I will have it in play in my tourneys ).
Joe, can you clarify? If the three new colors will be available in time for this GB order then there is more design freedom.
What do other GB participants think? Feel free to endorse or refute this observation. |

Feen has also posted some, whose colors seem lighter ... here ... but these were too low resolution (at least for the way I am working).
The image you are working on seems to have a different style "key" pattern on the track. ??? But if that's a scan, it's absolutely perfect! Is it the same chip? And that design is amazing. Personally I like it in your 'ceramic' mock-up best. It's a winner in any ceramic design contest you enter! Quote:

I really like your design (nothing new there). If I were going to be buying more chips any time soon, these would be the ones I'd buy... My main issue is that I'm not wild about the colors that clash (but that isn't your choice, those are just the edgespots...) | I darkened the background a little bit, in an effort to help the denominations stand out a bit more. The screen I am working on appears to be a bit darker than my other one (running dual-monitors) so I am trying to check against them both now. Still some variance, however when I reduce the images for posting, so backgrounds of the originals are not quite as bright as these posted here appear to be.
I also changed the font completely. THANK YOU!! I LOVE this font much better. It's still clean (which is what I liked about the other one) but has much more character and fits the style of the chip much better I think.
I also agree about the edgespot colors. Color coordination is not my strong suit, so I usually chalk my color 'issues' up to my inherent bad taste.
Alas ... it's a crazy world ... LOL
