Full Tilt

Anybody have any experience playing at Full Tilt Poker? PokerSourceOnline just added them as their latest affiliate so I'm probably going to do my next promo with them.

This ad of theirs cracked me up. I think many of you may be familiar with the hand Chris Ferguson bluffs with!

Yes. I've played there since November. Best poker software on the net in my opinion.

Tournament structure is great.

PokerTracker has a beta patch to import the hand histories.

Private HORSE tourneys.

Bonus is slow to clear at anything less than 1/2 limit or .5/1 NL. 1/2 limit and up used to be rock gardens but the influx of people seems to be helping that. I decided to fire up 2 tables of 1/2 to check it out yesterday and it was a lot looser than I remember. NL games are good.

Sounds good. 1/2 limit is what I usually play anyway. Looks like they're pretty generous with their bonus points for tourneys too. Their site says they pay out the bonus in 10% increments but don't say how many hands you have to play per that 10%. Any idea?

HORSE tourneys? I'm not familiar with that.

The bonus is not based on number of hands. It is based on the rake.

From Full Tilt site:
For each dollar raked from a pot, every player who was dealt cards for that hand will earn one point. You can earn partial points if less than one dollar is raked, and you can earn up to three points per hand.

Each point is worth $.06, so you can earn up to $18 per hundred hands.

For every dollar paid in tournament fees, you will receive 7 Full Tilt Points. There is no cap on the number of points you can receive.

Basically playing 2 tables of 1/2 for about 35-40 minutes yesterday I cleared $1.50 of the bonus. It is slow compared to most other sites.

In other words, every $20 pot where the rake is $1 you work off 6 cents of your bonus. A $10 pot will rake $0.50 and work off 3 cents of your bonus.

Oh and HORSE is an acronym for:

Holdem
Omaha hi/lo
Razz
Seven Stud
Seven Stud hi/lo (Eight or better)

Mixed game tournament. Game changes each time the blinds go up.

The private tournaments are mostly all for other forums. 2+2, FCP, RGP all have $5 and $10 tourneys weekly and you can get passwords off their sites. I used to play in the FCP for a few months. Been busy working off too many bonuses lately though.

Have played FullTilt quite a bit. The site traffic has more than doubled since last year. With continued ads and presence of the pros, my guess is that this site may creep near the head of the pack in traffic some day.

I've won more money on FullTilt than any other site. 1/2 and 2/4 NL games can be lucrative. SNGs are generally easier than PStars SNGs. Tournaments are average difficulty compared to other sites, but aren't as large so they don't take 6 hours to play.

It takes MUCH longer to clear the full amount of a bonus on FullTilt than on other sites, but its paid out in smaller increments. For example, if your total bonus is $100, it will pay in $20 increments. It takes a LOT of play to squeek out this bonus. A lot.

Overall, my favorite site and recommended.

Thanks for the input Speakeasy. I'll probably get started this weekend as soon as I move some $$ back to Neteller.

So far I've found Noble to be the hardest bonus to clear, actually l haven't even cleared all of it yet. They payout kind of the same way.

I have a spreadsheet (excel) that will help you calculate how fast/slow you'll get your bonus. 3 modifiable numbers (hands/hr, avg pot, total bonus) will help you figure it out based on table selection.

I've added the Noble poker calculator in there as well, with the hands/hr modifiable.

They both tell you how many hours to clear your bonus, hours/day needed to clear max (based on how long you have to clear it). I'm not sure how to post a spreadsheet on here (or if it's against the rules) ... let me know if anyone wants this.

Drink More,
Red_Rum

I decided to try Full Tilt last night.

I like how the software works... easy to make pot-sized bets and to go all-in without doing the math

My only other online experience is with Poker Stars and so far it seems that the SNG's on FT are WAY tighter than PS, at least at the $5 to $10 level I play at. I mean holy cow, it seems like you get to five players left and you can't get anyone to call a raise to save your life! I actually went to four players left in one tourney before I was involved in a showdown! Of course that means there are fewer bad beats. I also don't know if I like the 6 minutes blind levels or not.

But, for some reason I really have a problem with the cartoon avatars. I just seems really cheezy to me... hard to take the site and the game seriously, you know?
