I agree with your comment about the avatars...I turn them off; just go into options and you can turn off avatars, change the background, etc. etc.

Personally I like the cartoon avatars...I get caught up looking at the pics of real people on PS....ON FT once you've seen the monkey, it doesn't matter if you see another one, not nearly as distracting to me
