---- Help me design a chiptalk.net hand converter ----

I would like to design a Chiptalk.net hand converter that works like bisonbison's. I would like to start out with PokerStars and maybe add more depending on the difficulty. I would like to make it a Chiptalk.net tool if Ten does not mind. Below you can find an example let me know what we need to change, add, remove etc.

We can set up a dev directory on the chiptalk.net domain so that migration will not only be easy after dev... but pretty much done.

Well, it looks like the design part is complete. All you need now is someone who can implement it...

Out of curiousity, does anyone know what skills are required to do this? Is this a Perl thing?

I am working on it but I want to get the format correct before I get started.

i already posted this in the other thread, but:

the history should be cleaned up, if possible. to me, that means the minor folds should be in short hand, and in the ending summary the players not at showdown should be exluded.

when converted, the end result should include only the information relevant to the "story."

bisonbison's, of course, is the nutz, and should be considered in this process.

I also just posted this in the thread where I first suggested this, but I agree with jojo.

The red is too bright, and the history is still too long.

And I still prefer the small colored graphic suits as opposed to the card graphics we have here. The cards are a bit large and look a bit funny when in the same line as text.

Are you going to implement the whole "HERO, VILLAIN, UTG, MP1 etc" scheme? I suggest it, but have a tick to allow real names. With Bison's, the aliases feature has always confused me. (I'm a simple man)

I like the suggestion, Ten. When putting up a HH from the sidegames from tourney night, it would be good to have the real names there. When posting from our "other" online exploits it would be best to anonymize the others. A toggle would be a simple, elegant solution.
