Chips: 15,974 | | | How good is HOH2? since i finished reading it, i have 13 10+1 Party poker SNG's, with a ROI of 74.83% (5 firsts).
between 1/1/2005 and when i started reading HOH2, i had 70 of these SNG's with a ROI of -4% (8 1sts, 6 2nds, 8 3rds).
obviously, shorterm variance is at play. but using M as a factor in when to make my moves and the idea that any two will do at m<5 has opened things up for me. oh yeah, and chapter 8 (making moves) has helped too.

He's actually presenting NEW information that is simply not addressed in other books. They are tournament based books and if you are a tournament player these books should be your bible. |

Have you read both volumes? Or only volume 2?
Do you find that Volume 2 is better geared towards online SNGs? And if so, can you read the 2nd one without reading the first? |

Chips: 185 | | | I haven't gotten to the second one but I believe they were written to be read in order. |

Chips: 15,974 | | | they're both for tournies. i've read them both.
you could read 2 first, i guess. i wouldn't recommend it.
1 is geared towards early rounds, when stacks are relatively deep. on party poker sngs, that means round one only...
2 addresses bluffing, shorthanded play, and play when stacks are less than deep (most of the PP sng structure).
i would recommend you read 'em both. maybe someone wants to loan 'em out. not me, unfortunately (i've got some people lined up at this end). |

Great, great books. I can't recommend them enough.
Congrats on the success JoJo. Hope it keeps up.
After reading the first few sections I found that I'm getting farther in the multi table tournaments.
I've played 9 of the $1 45 person tournaments on stars. With 7 positions paying I've finished 2,5,7,8,8,10,12,43,42
The last 2 were running into a set with an overpair and top pair vs bottom 2 pair where I misplayed the hand badly preflop. |

Chips: 13,075 | | | It bears mention that there are a lot of folks on 2+2 who think Vol II is filled with bad advice. I haven't gotten through much of it (still haven't finished 100 pages) but from what I've seen it looks pretty good. Most of the objections were with the example problems.

discuss. | Jojo, you really need to move up to the $30+3s as there really isn't a big difference in ability until you get to the $50+5s (the level I'm currently playing - I'm up a little so far).
