Re: FT Update: GBT & DOJ strike deal!!

Hmm, I wonder if the $100 in my account is worth getting listed in a govt. database as an online gambler and possibly someone who played online circumventing U.S. laws for real money games...

"Here you go.. Payment of your $100 Full Tilt balance and a fine of $2,000 for online gambling."

I could be wrong about all this but I don't think online gambling (or depositing money for that purpose) was ever made illegal.

no, its just the fact the US government will probably require and will keep a record of every reimbursement they make, knowing alot of the cash will go unclaimed or any multi accounts will not meet their requirements....so they probably will keep those unclaimed funds.........and they may do a cross check with the IRS, or give the perception they will so more funds will be unclaimed......my guess

JM is right. If you were a winner, and never paid your taxes, they gonna get you.

if they try that shiiit (which you know they probably will) you can go back and re-file an ammended tax return to show the income if you have a big roll sitting on FT and maybe with the penalty and interest you will still come out with a positve dollar amount that may make it worth the effort....as always seek professional advice in advance....but it will be interesting to see what hoops they make US players jump thru..

Um. i think you misunderstood my point. They were stating that the IRS returning money will show funds that people didnt pay taxes for. I was saying that i doubt the IRS will be too pissed about the 100 bucks in there. I dont think once i said i didnt want my money back.
