He limps, he calls, he doesn't lead until an ace hits the board. I would have put him on ace-something, maybe even ace-king but not a pair of bullets. |

It obviously as you said isn't obvious villain has AA.
Even if you suspect villain has AA here, imo it would be -EV to not get trip K's all-in on a board like this. |

(actually a bad beat post because of my immense frustration) Big Mike: The one thing I would say about this hand, is that I'm not a huge fan of the flat call on the flop. With the flush draw out there many players will drive their draws, so by calling you are effectively giving villain a free card to outdraw you. |

And I actually thought he was more likely on Ax, even AK than a flush draw.
Thanks for all your replies. I immediately stopped playing all poker after this happened to avoid massively tilting. I proceeded to watch the movie Mean Girls on TV with my wife and then have a productive session of 6max LHE later in the evening.

By flat calling what are you doing if the flush hits on the turn, especially if you put him on an A.....are you going to call him down, or just straight release?
He definately could have Ax or AK here, but not sure it is more likely than a flush draw, they are both large parts of his range.
Do you have a lot of info on villain as you said its early in the tourney...how do you know he is going to double barrel his draw?
FWIW Mean Girls would make me tilt more than this hand |

Doesn't matter if its AA vs. KK or 10,10 vs. 3,3. Unless you've gotten an uncanny read on a situation like this, you're going to lose, usually a LOT.
Better luck next time. And I do mean that. I blame these scenarios on luck. The chances that you and an opponent both hit a set and you're on the low end.. it's just bad luck. I haven't figured the odds on this scenario, but I'm sure they are so low that it's gotta be bad luck. This happens to me more times than I care to recount.
