I like to start doing a thread on etiquette while playing online poker . Feel free to share some advice here for future and current online poker players.

DOs:
It ok to congratulate a person with a nice hand, even when your beat.

Sit out If you have to do something

Take your time when deciding on what to do with your hand.

Donts:
For tourney players, don't keep going allin just because you have to go. Sit out.

Don't be impatient if someone taking their time, never type in zzzzzzzzzz, or hurry them to make a decision. There are two reason, they may be temporary occupied, and Its Poker!
Besides thats what timers is for.

Do:

If people are speaking a language other than English, type "English only, check the rules" (most sites I know of)......Then, if they don't stop, report them.

Type "Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz" and "hurry the f up moron". If you are playing 50¢/$1 nl and lower, it's not enough money to make a life decision over, if it takes you that long, maybe you should take up quilting instead of poker. Once in a while is fine, but every friggin hand...maybe you aren't cut out for multi-tabling.

Don't berate people for bad decisions, make a note, take their name and try it again when the situation arises.

To be safe, turn off chat, it's stupid anyway.

Do: call everybody who wins a pot a donkey because they're obviously not a better player than you are. I mean, seriously, what were they thinking calling your all in ?

Don't : be polite, soft spoken, or otherwise a pleasant table presence. YOU HAVE CHAT FOR A REASON PEOPLE, USE IT !! If they're anything that aggravates me more than someone who calls an all in bet with AJ and wins its somebody who doesn't call that person a donkey for doing so. It's in everybody's best interest to berate bad plays because we'd all do so much better if everybody we played against was good.
