Thought I was dominating this hand!!!

I thought i was way ahead. In all my donkness I never put together what he could have that would beat me. I just new I had Rockets, and tripped up on the flop. It wasn't until I was about to post how great I am that I realized that I pulled a super one outter on the river.

Re: Thought I was dominating this hand!!!

Min-3-bet the pre-flop raise.

Flop a set on a ok(ish) board, bet $1 into a $7.25 pot with a flush draw and straight draw showing, actually giving him the odds to chase even a gutshot????????

Make your quads and win the hand....but it wasnt a super one-outter as a full house would have done aswell.

Raise more pre and bet more post......

Right, you actually had 10 outs. I still think this would have been an all in for both players considering the flop. Above is also correct IMO, too small a bet on the flop. I was playing live at a casino last night and had the same scenario. Other player flopped a straight to my set. I actually check raised the flop to see where I was and got a call. Did the same on the turn, and got a call. Thankfully, I pulled a boat on the river and took down a big pot.
