This is why he is a Gold Star and I'm not.

Man, do I suck at freerolls. PokerStars is having a promotion where you can bump your VIP status up a notch. Top 100 gets a silver star, and I'm doing pretty well - 200th out of about 1300 - when this happens:

CharginWapos said, "haha i am gold star already"
CharginWapos said, "fawk"
Quigolf: folds
CharginWapos said, "table going all in till i am out"

Of course, I get "wired jacks" THE VERY NEXT HAND. I figure its as good a chance as any to get some chips, so I limp, hoping he keeps his word:

PokerStars Game #19232383113: Tournament #95688262, Freeroll Hold'em No Limit - Level IV (50/100) - 2008/07/30 - 20:15:37 (ET)
Table '95688262 141' 9-max Seat #4 is the button
Seat 1: vgud (5300 in chips)
Seat 2: RASTAJAMS (1020 in chips) is sitting out
Seat 3: CharginWapos (6865 in chips)
Seat 4: Quigolf (8940 in chips)
Seat 5: kove1 (3975 in chips)
Seat 6: Marfredo (5280 in chips)
Seat 7: JoseRijo27 (3855 in chips)
Seat 8: cycklone (1120 in chips) is sitting out
Seat 9: Scoww (1280 in chips) is sitting out
kove1: posts small blind 50
Marfredo: posts big blind 100
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to JoseRijo27 [Jd Jh]
JoseRijo27: calls 100
cycklone: folds
Scoww: folds
vgud: folds
RASTAJAMS: folds
CharginWapos: raises 6765 to 6865 and is all-in
Quigolf: folds
kove1: folds
Marfredo: folds
JoseRijo27: calls 3755 and is all-in
Uncalled bet (3010) returned to CharginWapos
*** FLOP *** [9d 4s Ts]
*** TURN *** [9d 4s Ts] [Qh]
*** RIVER *** [9d 4s Ts Qh] [7s]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
JoseRijo27: shows [Jd Jh] (a pair of Jacks)
CharginWapos: shows [As Qs] (a flush, Ace high)
CharginWapos collected 7860 from pot

He proceeds to go all-in the next four hands, but I can't watch any more.

Yeah, my normal game is going about as well, thanks for asking.

Re: This is why he is a Gold Star and I'm not.

did he say that before the hand was dealt? I'm thinking that he is/was a man of his word and just happened to wake up with a dec' hand on his first "freeroll shove". Too bad for you but you GOTTA call with the J's. I'm a gold star too and I've been thinking about doing this freeroll, what time is it?

Re: This is why he is a Gold Star and I'm not.

Yeah, he absolutely said it before the hand. Then he went on to push like 83o, T6o, stuff like that.

The gold stars had their own tournaments on Tuesday.
