I just started playing pokerstars for real money, and I can't seem to get a good connection to their server. The network status on their site says I have about a 40% connection to their server with a 100% connection to all the other ones listed. Everything else works fine. I have internet, Tivo, PS3, all working a-ok. Even my download/upload speed is fast. My computer is working fine - nothing is blocking the site. I have even tried upgrading the firmware on my router (linksys wrt54g - my computer is wired to it). Nothing has worked.

Anyone work through a problem like this before?

Call your ISP and ask them to do a line test.

If all the others in their network test list are 100% then its probably a problem in one of the intermediate hops between you & pokerstars. IIRC, their servers are overseas in one of the caribbean islands, so its quite a few hops before it gets there. Could be a bad router at one of those hops.

If this is the case, all I can do is wait and see if they fix it correct?

I can't help, but a couple of weekends ago I had a heck of a time connecting from
my parents' house in upstate New York. Of course, I entered two sit-and-gos and
all I could do was push when I had a hand. I cashed in one of them.

That had never happened to me before when I played there.

I've been playing about an hour and a half tonight and no problems so far. Connection is at 100%. Hopefully it is fixed - it is obviously not a problem with my end, anyway.
