Chips: 471 | | | Re: ftp superturbos I recently opened a FT account with $50. My first NL table I had AK the first hand. Someone went all in and I called. He had A6o and won. My account dropped down to $16 playing $2 sit & goes--NL, limit and HORSE. Finally, I decided to play very tight--as in fold 80% of my hands preflop (turns out it's more like 85%). I can make it down to 4 players left routinely with this strategy, and then try to make the money. I'm just trying to build my bankroll back up. Players play so loose and poorly that you could post & fold for the first 30 minutes and be in 3rd or 4th place when you come back.
So far I have avoided the turbos, but I suspect what you're getting at JoJo is that if you play very tightly and let the maniacs pick each other off, you could play only your very best hands for big pots and unless you got more than your share of bad luck, consistently finish in the $.
The only think about these low stakes for me is that I only play for recreation, and it's not much fun to fold 80%+ of your hands.

anyone that plays a lot of sngs want to argue the other side? | I would say that it really simplifies your strategy.
if they are as described (raise - push - call) - tight is right. AND - I mean 10% + tight. You really have one raise move, no screwing around.
The big plus would be multitabling.
The structure makes your strategy simplistic - so paying attention to the players is secondary. KQ suited? from MP? - nah, want AK (maybe AQ), tt or better and shove. A simpler decision process allows for many more tables to be open. Plus the fast structure then allows for even more play.
The downside that I see would be in playing bigger games. You have to be able to shut off the "automatic" pushbot strategy. |

Chips: 554 | | | Re: ftp superturbos How about I don't have to wait 30 mins to get a 10bb stack and get to start shoving. Or the fact that there is an unexploitable strategy? I saw these was also intriged. Only bad part I see is that there will be 9 players instead of 5-6 when the pushbotting starts, however there won't be a definitive big stack so it may even itself out. anyone that plays a lot of sngs want to argue the other side? | Well yeah, they are probably +EV if you play super tight and don't get sucked out by the donks when you do shove with the best hand. Too much bother for a $3 tourney IMO. I'd rather put $12 into a 180 SNG turbo on P* and play some real poker for real money after half the field busts out.
