PSO - ID verification

I was trying to sign up for one of PSO's free money deals and they are asking me for a copy of my ID for final verification. Is this standard? Just checking to make sure this is common as I have never signed up for PSO before.

I did a free money $125 at UltimateBet, and I did not have to jump through this hoop. Maybe they red-flag the free money $50 transactions?
