Chips: 1,564 | | | Chat box language.... Okay, I have been playing online for awhile and I know most of the shortcuts for words, but what does "nb" stand for??
Noob?
No Brains?
Nut Bag??
I thought I was playing pretty well, and I ended up reaching the final table of an 18 man SNG with nearly 4,500 in chips and I call an all in from a short stack and another slightly smaller stack from the button with Ac-Jc and lose to the smaller stack when his pocket 10's hold up. I am left with 420ish in chips I wait and watch the big stack knock out 3 players on one hand when several small stacks move in together and he calls from the button with K-J and wins with a pair of Jacks. As a result of that hand I make the money, so on the very next hand I am dealt 5s-6s and push from UTG. I am called by the big stack with Q-9 and spike a 5 which holds up. I then proceed to wait for good hands and I end up doubling up 3 more times. Once with K-Q, once with J-J, and once with A-Q. I then push my luck to far I guess and re-raise the bet from the button when I am in the SB with As-8s and he calls with A-10o. I lose when he spikes a ten on the turn. Now I seriously didn't think I was playing like a donkey or anything even though I got extremely lucky with the 5-6 hand.
Now I didn't find the comment until after the tournament when I was looking back through the chat box to review the hands I had won and lost and that's when I caught it and once the guy makes the comment the other player says "think so?"
So WTF is that supposed to mean?? Is it an insult like I think it is???
Actually I am glad that I didn't see it until the tournament was completely over or I probably would have reamed the guy out. Now I know that I am not a great player, I have never claimed to be, but come on....I had the best time every time I got the money in EXCEPT for one!!??!!!??
Man, I am getting burned up just thinking about the whole thing.... |

Don't know what someone else might use it for. I suppose it could be sarcastic, or it could be something else entirely.
Sounds like you pushed with ATC and with first-in vigorish, a perfectly fine play for a micro stack. If someone doesn't recognize what that is, then F 'em. |

I wouldn't take anything from the online poker chat box to heart. I will say some stooopid stuff to try and tilt players who seem tiltable. Very out of character for me, but I'll do it if I think it'll give me an edge Quote:

I haven't read any of the replies to this thread because I feel it is necessary to tell anyone who reads this....I think he may have said "nice bet" and the other guy might have just been responding accordingly....um....yeah....well, I am going to go back and read all the comments posted about this situation and I am fully prepared to take any and all name calling associated. It is more than deserved...
However I will justify that fact that it seemed as though both of these guys were a little frustrated with the fact that I was hanging around, one hand both of them called time before folding.....that could also have been a stall tactic in order to get the blinds to jump, who knows really... |
