You learn't a valuable lesson that you will never forget. Always exactly two cards from your hand and three from the board.

Look out for quads on the board... it get really messy!

Have fun with Omaha it's my favourite game!
Great post. And it was a freeroll, so it wasn't like he had anything at risk. It is a mistake that happens to most when picking up the game.

Common mistake... why do you think so many of us figured out that was the problem so fast?

Did you make my mistake and get a lot of money involved in the hand?

I was betting pretty aggressively with them, then it dawned on me.

Toblat - you learned the Omaha lesson and did it for free. I'm more surprised that the flush was good compared to the rest of the field.

Don't sweat it. You made the mistake you're not likely to repeat. Thanks for the post and not changing it.

I got a chuckle and I'd given you a pat on the back if I could.

YEP. The first time I played Omaha I did it on accident. I clicked on a SNG, but my cursor had moved and ended up in a Omaha SNG, a game I had never played before and had no clue. I had to look it up as I was playing before I figured it out. By the time I knew what was going on, I was chip leader. Go figure.

I had that happen to me in a hi-lo game. Fortunately I folded preflop.

Can someone explain to me why the player with the Q685 was still in that pot?

Re: full tilt is rigged? I have proof (this is a doozy)

It's precisely this why I have a love/hate relationship with Omaha. It's a great game (and is always a hit at the home game) but when you are dealt a great hand then quickly realize that it's useless always hurts.

A home game regular jumped up from the table laughing and cursing when he looked at his hole cards many months ago. He grabbed his camera phone and snapped a pic for posterity's sake. The hand:

What a great game....
