second one, flopped middle set against a flopped straight AND an oesd/flush draw allin on the flop. busto.

so...thus far, i'm in for 4 buyins. i'm on my 5th step 1 now. could be this'll be trickier than i had expected
two straight 3rds in step ones, including a 2 outer on the turn 3 handed

lol now i can't even get to step 2.

LOL. I read your first post and thought, "Not even the 70FPP SNGs are gimmies for me. I must be horrible." I'm 0-4 as well, but I might try a few more.

I read some good advice on 2+2 for these. Someone suggested working on your push strategies at the higher steps using Bubble Trainer. Lots of players aren't used to playing in that type of structure, and you can really gain a huge advantage.

Re: p* wsop steps: follow my path to 10 million

woo won a ticket to a step one with that last 3rd place.

with it...got crippled allin preflop at 50/100 with AK < T9. ground it back to average then lost at 150/300 with KK < A9.

5th place. booted back to the basement.

jojo -

Just wondering if you have a limit on the number of times you're going to try this? I enjoy your updates on progress, but am just curious how many $7 buyin's you're going to lose through the process... Thoughts?

well...the payoff is 10k. if i lived in vegas i'd most CERTAINLY take a shot at some supersatellites and/or 1k single table satellites.

given that, i'll probably probably play 40 or 50 of these, depending on how much time i have and depending on the whimsy of my short attention span

the trick is to update this thread without making it (even more of) a whiny bad-beat thread.

Out of curiosity do P* T$ count towards these or just the W$

I just won a 70FPP SnG donkament and have $11 T$ I was debating using for one of these to see what it's like

Re: p* wsop steps: follow my path to 10 million

Try using FPP. Not sure of the current rules, but last time I tried, I used 40FPP. Had to come in top 8 out of 940. Finished with a 3 to 1 chip lead over 2nd place. I wouldn' t have played AA in that spot.

Then just needed to come in top 2 out of 400. Finished 51st.

But that's it. Get lucky twice and you're in and only costs you FPP.

I saved up 1,200 FPP this year. I think they're also 400FPP so I need to decide which way to use 'em up....3 x 400 or 30 x 40.

I think I've seen stars do a big tourney where top 100 get in too. Does anyone know the details around that? I can't remember if it has satellites into it or not.

Re: p* wsop steps: follow my path to 10 million

By the way, when you enter these and get up in the Steps (like I did) you get all the FPP's that you'd normally get by "buying" into these SnG's. I achieved Silverstar status in two weeks, and was a few hundred off from Goldstar for last month.

P.S. Back down at Step 1 after a pretty good run to Step 4.

Re: p* wsop steps: follow my path to 10 million

Sigh, time for me to take a break from poker again... Even when you make incredibly good reads, this happens:

Saw Flop | Saw Turn | Saw River | Saw Showdown | Won

PokerStars Game #16584413993: Tournament #83989444, $25+$2 Hold'em No Limit - Level III (25/50) - 2008/04/08 - 16:47:33 (ET)
Table '83989444 1' 9-max Seat #6 is the button

HERO - t1660
UTG+1 - t1565
MP1 - t1515
MP2 - t2985
MP3 - t1982
Button - t933
SB - t1360
BB - t1500

PREFLOP Level III (25/50)
HERO is UTG with T A
HERO raises t100 to t150, 6 folds, BB calls t100.

FLOP t325 (2 players)
K A 4
BB checks, HERO bets t250, BB calls t250.

TURN t825 (2 players)
K A 4 T
BB checks, HERO bets t450, BB raises t650 to t1100, HERO calls t650.

RIVER t3025 (2 players)
K A 4 T 6

BB showed 5 4 and won (3025) with a flush, Ace high

Final Pot: t3025

Not that I'm making this a bad beat thread... he had a lot of outs!
