Chips: 30 | | | Is anyone doing the Steps SnGs on P* for the WSoP ME? These, so far, are relatively easy for me, although that could change. I started off at the $7.50 Step 1 Tourney, won that, went to step 2, came in 3rd so I got another step 2 ticket, won the next one, went to step 3, came in 3rd then 4th, so I am still on step 3 without having to put any more money in!
Anyone else doing these? |

Anyone else doing these? | Not doing these myself, but how many "Steps" are there?

I got to Step Five last week and am back at Step Three right now. Once you get past Step 3 it actually turns into a poker game again. 1-3 remind me why i hate turbos.
The only downside I've come across is Step Six. 9th to 6th get nothing. So you could tear it up all the way to Step Six, make a mistake, and have to start all over again.

Chips: 72 | | | Re: Is anyone doing the Steps SnGs on P* for the WSoP ME? let's bump this thread. After languishing at Step 5 all week (replayed it 4 times. Took all week because I only like to play online as a learning tool, and i'm in the middle of getting ready for my wedding.
Finally got a Step 6 ticket. I used two step one buy-ins to get there. By the time you get to step 4 people start to realize the sattelite structures and aren't playing for all the chips on the table. Step 5 especially so. If you have a stack w 4 or so left, you could essentially gank all the blinds -- or you could play for payoff position, depends on your table.
Its a fun way to kill some time for cheap. I haven't used my ticket yet. |

That seems like an awful lot, considering all of the do-overs you'll "win" along the way. |

Chips: 72 | | | Re: Is anyone doing the Steps SnGs on P* for the WSoP ME? played my Step 6 out in 9th in the 75-150 (snug snug play all around)
Didn't make any hands for 4 levels. Lost a sizable pot at the 50-100 from the button with OE St8 F Draw w/TP didn't make against a short stack AJ pushing $1000 on the flop after my 1/2 pot bet. Caught a J on the river.
Then felted in 9th when my 1010 ran into the monster A10. Pushed my last 1400 on the button against a MP 2.5x raise. He called and hit a st8 on the riv.
All in all a good time. Though i don't know how we got to level 4 with snug play and then AJ and A10 become monsters. Back to the step one grind. Sucks getting that far and not cashing. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
