Windows Vista and online poker...

Ok, recently gotten back into online poker and in the course of trying to find a site I like I've found that the only software that works with my laptop with windows vista is full tilt and ultimate bet. I cant get Sportsbook, doylesroom, pokerstars, bodog, partypoker, or absolutepoker to work....

I have my windows firewall disabled, none of the tech-supports I've gotten in touch with have been any help, anyone know if the software is just not compatible with vista or is there some setting I need to change? Any help would be great, thanks.

Re: Windows Vista and online poker...

I think you have to right-click on the executable (the icon you use to open the program) and select properties. From there find "Run in Compatibility Mode"...or something like that.

Re: Windows Vista and online poker...

I have that on my laptop and didn't have a problem with Pokerstars. Also have FullTilt on it.

I don't know much about it , but know I didn't have to do anything special to download P*

Wish I could give ya more info..

Jesus man you had me scared for a second. I'm about to get my first laptop and it will most likely have Vista. If P*'s wouldn't work that'd be just the end of the world.

I have multiple computers with Vista and run both P* and Full Tilt without issues.

Re: Windows Vista and online poker...

Pokerstars works, i just reinstalled it and it works great as does fulltilt. There are still about 4 sites that dont work even with compatibility mode checked, thanks for the replies so far. If anyone has any other ideas feel free to share

Re: Windows Vista and online poker...

To have it working with Vista, you have to run the poker site program as administrator. Also turn UAC off. All your poker software need to be run this way, poker tracker, PA Hud, etc.
