Been playing more O8 than HE lately. Usually at the same time of day and I'm noticing some of the same players. Wondering if getting PT for Omaha might be beneficial.
I haven't played much for real $ online lately, but when I was, it was pretty helpful, especially when trying to put a someone on a hand in a given situation. I found that the history of a player's pre-flop raising hands was of particular help, as a good chunk of Omaha/8 players (at least the ones at my micro levels) didn't vary their game very much. It was funny calling out people's hands before they showed and being right numerous times (only did that a few sessions...didn't want to give any lessons).
At FT I would have 2 tables open on one monitor, 2 on the other, with external PT GameTime (I think that's what it's called) windows underneath each.
If you have specific questions, I can try and answer them for you.
Actually got it before I got the HE version as I used to play O8 almost exclusively online before I started playing HE. You'll definitely see the same folks more often in O8 then in HE so I'd say its more valuable from a competition perspective. I like the categories option also for profiling types of hands but I wished you could filter for just certain types of games easily (just PLO, just LO8, etc).
I haven't been playing any O8 for the past 2 years but I just put in a few weeks recently with PTO+PA. I find PTO not as useful for O8 as PT is for Holdem. The most helpful was to identify the LAG faster but there isn't too many LAG's at O8. If you play Omaha hi, then I think it would be more helpful.
For post game review, it is just as great for Omaha as it is for Holdem.
For me, PTH has paid for itself many times over but I don't think PTO has paid for itself yet. Also PA HUD is good both all three version of PT. You only need to pay for PA once.
