the darndest hand - I'm still trying to figure it out

So, I'm playing the most micro of micro SnGs this frigid Chicago Sunday while half-watching the AFC playoff game. Here's the hand that I'm still pretty much speechless about. Only one player called my pre-flop raise from the button and I figured him for at least a fairly nice pair or a really big Ace before the flop. He then made that little bet after the flop so I raised just to see if he was for real or not. When he called me I figured he had something decent. Then the play on the turn and the river really had me wondering what he was holding as I was sure I was up against a straight. I am just amazed that this guy stayed in this hand and ended up AI with bottom pair.

Don't think about it too much. Those tourneys are sometimes worse than playmoney.

LOL. Yes, they often are. I've been surprised though by some pretty thoughtful play in them too.

Re: the darndest hand - I'm still trying to figure it out

Don't even try to get behind that, you will not make it!
This is the new third class of player.. Let me sum them up for you, grasshopper:

1. The shark:
Good players, that sometimes make they play look weak to trap opponents.
Those are the hunters.

2. The fish:
weak players who overplay their hands, make poor bluffs and don't know when they're beat.
Thats the usual bait.

3. (my new invented category) The shrimp
Guys that don't even have a clue what they're doing whatsoever. You meet them mostly in non holdem games. Just a few hands ago a player in an omaha event asked "Do in omaha count the best 5 cards, like in holdem?" (copied that line right out of the chat, I thought I might use it some day)
i.e. those guys raise it up with 2222 because they think they got dealt quads.
The key element to identify those guys is their might bluff call. Like calling an all-in against the nuts with king high.
Those are the typ of creatures in a fishtank that use to bump their heads against the glass all day long.

P* charges 20% vig on a micro tourney? I guess they really want to attract new players.

Re: the darndest hand - I'm still trying to figure it out

Yeah, it's a bit much and I know I'm a dolt for playing in them. It feels like decent experience though as to patience and pacing myself in such a tourney since I don't play many tourneys at all. The real deal is the $3 turbo 6-handed SnG at only .25 cents. That's less than 10% and they run really fast.
