Weekends are minefields?

Well, story is simple.
I usually play online between monday and friday and normally I make at least a small profit.
But when I decide to play on weekends, let's say sunday evening I catch so many frickin bad beats and get rivered so often, it just sucks.

Re: Weekends are minefields?

Same thing with me. I just can't win. Had 3 A's and 2 K's full last night , .10-.20 cash game on PS* and guess what. Two others had the same hand and the other player had 4 Aces.
Never experienced that before, and it went down hill from there...

Tried again a few minutes ago and same thing, no one will fold..

I'm done for the day...

Re: Weekends are minefields?

That is true for weekends but in the long run, they are more +EV.

Re: Weekends are minefields?

That's what you want Vince - just tighten up a little and make them pay dearly for when you have a good hand. We've all been there, and have a little rant when your AK with an A on the board gets beaten by 2 pair on the turn or river.

Re: Weekends are minefields?

I probably did it to you

No seriously, I'm no great player but I tend to overplay on tables like that. When you raise with AK you are looking to drive all the mediocre hands out so you can make better decisions on the flop etc. So when you get AK and AT8 comes on the flop, you're trying to work out if they'd play AT etc and not expecting the T8 two pair winner when it happens. You just have to look at your hand that is Top Pair Top Kicker and then whether the 3-4 hands facing you have picked up more than that - the likelyhood is yes or at least you face a straight draw. Just something to thing about, I'm certainly no authority.
