Chips: 3,642 | | | Hezballah I was playing a ring game on FT last night and there was a guy with the username "hezballah" at the same table. I asked him about it and he said his friends nicknamed him this because of his beard. Well, I got into it a bit with him and someone else joined with me as well. I sent the following email to FT: Should the username "hezballah" really be allowed?
Would you also allow third reich?
Maybe Al Qaeda?
How about Hitler?
Baby killer?
Taliban?
A vast majority of the World's citizens find Hezbollah reprehensible.
I, for one, find the use of a terrorist organization's name (misspelled
or not) as a username to be offensive. I respectfully request that you
require this user to change his username. I also request that you
review your policy on what is acceptable as a username and remove the
allowance of the names of known terrorist organizations.
Thank you. To which they replied: Hello Russell,
Thank you for contacting Full Tilt Poker Support regarding an offensive
screen name. We appreciate you for bringing this to our attention.
We will certainly look into this matter and take appropriate action.
We truly appreciate your help in maintaining a fun and enjoyable
atmosphere here at Full Tilt Poker, Russell. Please do not hesitate to
send future screen name or chat violations to support@fulltiltpoker.com,
and remember to include the person's Player ID and a copy of the
conversation. We will always do our best to address your concerns.
Kind Regards,
John G
Full Tilt Poker Support If you agree, feel free to send FT an email. If you don't agree, that's fine too. Russ |

I could care less what someone's screen name is. Unless he's chatting to the table trying to promote or endorse terrorism or racism or something similar, who cares. If he's quiet and minding his own, he just sounds like another guy with a stupid screen name. |

I think that the Jets fans chanting "show us your t#$s" long before a lawmaker made a stink.
I think that the temporary banning of a certain CT individual for modifying one of our mods avatars in an inappropriate manner was justified.
It is all in the arena. In many areas, people need to be respectful in the method of their communication. This guy may not even realize how much poor taste is involved with their nick choice. It should be a pretty painless changeover.
As far as online poker goes - I can see a little more leeway when compared to a casino, but other players still need to be respected. |
