Just venting...
I have had an unbelievably bad run over the past 2 days playing SNGs and ring. I hate variance. And it is not like I am playing bad. I have been making great folds and great calls. I am getting it all in with the best and getting called by players who just don't understand what they are doing. I mean how do you call an UTG raise with A6o??? You just don't do it. I had AK and the board came Axxx6. And I get laughed at. Retarded. Again I get it all in with AKh and get called by AdKs and the board is filled with diamonds. I am starting to believe FTP has something against me. How come the river always brings the pain????
I was even doing well playing 25NL and 50NL 6max. Then it all went into the crapper.
My game has rapidly changed over the past 3 weeks being home nursing my new hip. And I have been on a great run. Everything I gained is gone.
Sorry for your bad run. I'm sure it will turn for you. I usually take a little time off if Ive run too cold. Good luck.
I'm taking the next few days off because of the same reasons. Getting my hand in with the best of it, just to be sucked out. Lost 3-4 SNG's, so I played .10/.25NL and got some back but I was playing with a nasty streak. So instead of donking off the money from a good October, it's time to step back and relax a little.
GL and take a few days off, though that's easier said than done.

I've taken the last two weeks off of poker completely. I won't be able to make tomorrow night game either...3 weeks no poker at all...not even online!
This is the longest time off in over two years. I'm hoping to come back with a better attitude and better mind set.
The break must be doing me good...better attitude and I don't feel as anxious come friday...I used to do whatever I could to make a game, but today it was simple to choose going out with the fam over the game... I needed a vacation from it... now I can come back refreshed, with all that bad mojo out of my system...
Oh and I'll have better chips when I'm back!
Nice new set of PNY's and some horseshoe quarters to add to the set. Should be sweet.
Wwhen I start to run bad, I like to take some time off and read or re-read a poker book. Don't let yourself play again until you are all the way through the book. I find when I start playing again I have a new perspective and tend to do well.
I feel your pain, I have been running terrible in tournaments. Both online and live. I've been trying to play more cash lately since I have been doing well with Omaha HiLo NL. Hopefully all of our cold streaks will come to an end. GL guys.
I am no expert but when I run into streaks I tend to take time off as well... You could always try a different game... Stud, Omaha etc. I know this is part of the game but I feel your pain and it does SUCK!

I swore I would stay away for a few days, but couldn't resist. I am home nursing my hip replacement and bored out of my mind. I have been reading a bunch of past issues of Card Player and broke down tonight. Good news is I took 2nd and 1st in 2 SNGs. I dropped down a level, but being ITM felt good.
I really want to try Omaha 8. I may do that tomorrow.
