Re: WTF Happened here? sooo gro

You probably can fold to the four-bet pre-flop.

I'm pretty sure runner-runner flushes happen in live poker.

Re: WTF Happened here? sooo gro

The way I see it, you had to have the idea that you were up against an opponent with a great hand preflop. Once the flop hits, and you make your set, you're golden. This was played fine, just an unlucky board.

Re: WTF Happened here? sooo gro

Happens all day in live play.

The pre-flop raise was a little steep. I'd be hesitant to call his bigger re-raise. Once you hit top set, I would have jammed.

Wouldn't have changed anything though, I'm sure hes calling.

I probably would have called with KK if I were him. Although I wouldn't have hit the flush.

Re: WTF Happened here? sooo gross

Yea he wasnt getting away from that hand after that flop.... unlucky it is!
after I called his reraise i figured he had KK,AK or QQ and knew i had to get lucky! Then i popped the flop, I am soooo ahead at this point unless he had AsKs. I am begging him to go all in after the flop and he does! I guess all i can ask for is to have all my $ in with the best hand as I did.

anyway i ended up down $6 for the session...not bad considering I had another runner runner all in hit on me. with me having KK.

$1.40 rake? ....hmmmmmmmmmm

Thanks all for listening!

Re: WTF Happened here? sooo gro

Whether you call or re-raise, I think all your chips are going to be in the middle after the flop. You just got unlucky. Runner runner to make a losing flush sucks, there's no doubt about that.

Re: WTF Happened here? sooo gro

Even at 10NL, isn't this a fold preflop?

Yeah - once you get reraised you could be in trouble. Since he only has $10 left behind him, is it worth the gamble to go for the set which there is a decent chance you need to take this down (which you end up hitting).

So - if you can place a reasonable amount of probability that he has JJ\QQ\KK\AA when he repops you, then you should lay this down.
