With the broken quote marks it was kind of difIcult to read and I scanned over it originally. Suckoutking brought up the BB subject again in post #30 though and it does seem to be the general thought process conveyed in this thread. Some casinos, although not many in my experience, do have 'cracked Aces' jackpots and such. Perhaps that would apply here, but certainly not a BB one. Quote:

I also found a couple of rich kids at my University who love poker but are TERRIBLE at it, and I've increased my live bankroll from around $250 to right over $900 in the last 2 1/2 weeks |

I realize that tourneys are different that your cash game, but I watched an interesting hand that made the broadcast of the WSOP 07. Towards the end the Russian guy(can't remember his name) was in a pot with an very strong hand but not the sheer nuts. Memory is fading on exactly the hands involved but I believe he was second nuts. Hand is being raised into him and he plays the hand very carefully and doesn't commit all his chips with the second nuts. The guys a pro and was unwilling to risk ALL his chips and tourney life with a very strong hand. Wins a good sized pot and doesn't go for the kill shot. Perhaps he realized that he could still be beat albit unlikely and if he's a better player will cripple the other guy and eventually take him down if his strong hand holds up. Also avoids being knocked out of the tourney by a miracle hand. I'll check the TIVO and see if I still have this so get my facts straight. |

He also busted out and lost... If you only play the absolute nuts poker is going to be a very long boring way to lose your money. |

I think the loosest online Bad Beat Jackpot is paid on quad eights or better. Just in case anyone was wondering.
