Would you make this call?

Played two HU SNG's tonight after watching Manny Ramirez absolutely smoke the ball over da green monsta!

First one was a micro $2 game and I was dominated from start to finish. Played poorly and deserved to lose.

So I played a low limit $5 game. Playing a little better but my opponent is the aggressor and is taking the lead in the match. The game is going back and forth until we reach this hand.

A little history, PhtDady02 had just raised the last 3 hands and I folded to all of them. Out of those 3, I liked my T/9s but decided to let it go. Well I limped in again and I wanted to see a flop. PhtDady02 raised it up to 90 so I called. Here's how it played out.

Hand # 52
PokerStars Game #12463811649: Tournament #63256699, $5.00+$0.25 Hold'em No Limit - Match Round I, Level II (15/30) - 2007/10/06 - 01:50:22 (ET)
Table '63256699 1' 2-max Seat #2 is the button
Seat 1: PhtDady02 (1525 in chips)
Seat 2: Irish Se7en (1475 in chips)
Irish Se7en: posts small blind 15
PhtDady02: posts big blind 30
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Irish Se7en [Js 9c]
Irish Se7en: calls 15
PhtDady02: raises 60 to 90
Irish Se7en: calls 60
*** FLOP *** [Qc Jh Th]
PhtDady02: bets 120
Irish Se7en: calls 120
*** TURN *** [Qc Jh Th] [3d]
PhtDady02: bets 270
Irish Se7en: calls 270
*** RIVER *** [Qc Jh Th 3d] [3c]
PhtDady02: bets 420
Irish Se7en: calls 420

Now I know alot of hands have me beat but he has yet show a hand that was worthy of a raise. This is also a low limit HU SNG, so I'm thinking he could have any two cards. He's also called some raises with very weak hands.

I probably would have folded this hand before but after my HU match with TMJ2k, I'm now thinking that my Jacks could be good. On the flop I had a few outs (K or an 8 ), though if I was going to hit a straight I would have wanted the 8 as the K could give him a higher straight.

So would you have called any of this (preflop, flop, turn, river)? Does he have me? Higher Pair, Straight, or is he just full of sh*t?

Red Sox fans, it's still early but we can at least enjoy this victory and the Yankee loss!

All Hail Manny being Manny! WB!!!

Re: Would you make this call?

I jumped off my couch when Manny hit that ball. He blasted off and pwned that pitcher. Damn!

Edit - I am bad at HU. I call here and hope he has T9.

....the dude they walked happens to be David "Big Papi" Ortiz. He hit 2 run Jack in Game 1 and it was a better match up (Righty on Righty) for L.A.A . So it made sense to walk D. Ortiz to face Manny who was coming back from an injury. It just didn't work out for L.A.A.

Re: Would you make this call?

I would have re-raised the flop. You have an open ended draw and middle pair. Bump it up about 3-400. The reason is this -- right there you get to see where he is. If he's got nothing, he's gone. The other reason is that you have a strong hand for heads up play. You want money in the pot. Third, by re-raising you take the lead and he is going to check to you next card. This gives you the opportunity to take a free card or possibly push him out with another large bet. By just calling you never know whether he has a good hand or not, but making a re-raise you say I've got something good, what do you have?

Re: Would you make this call?

i definitely call (infrequently raise) the flop
i'd very often fold the turn. you're getting a bad price for your straight and he's telling you your pair is not good. if you don't believe him there you're better off pushing right away rather than calling off the rest of your stack with a likely one pair hand on the river.

i'd nearly always fold the river (barring more information). what're we gonna do, put him on a 4 barrel bluff here?
