Can someone explain this for me?

I don't deposit online, but I couldn't figure out what the point of this is:

Right now we need Poker Players, and will pay you just for sitting

I'd be curious to hear responses to this. Thanks!

Data mining. They will probably have you install some software or have you send hand logs.

Re: Can someone explain this for me?

they're asking you to become a proposition player. they'll pay you a small amount to play. it gives the illusion that the site has a clientele, helps keeps games running and brings in new people.

all casinos and many online sites have props. at a place like commerce or the bike, i know for a fact they'll salary props for something like 40k. the bad news, you play in the games they tell you to (15/30 shorthanded, et cetera).

Yeah but why would they want you to just fold every hand. Seems like they'd want a prop player playing to at least bump up the rake for the house.

it doesn't say they want you to fold hands, just that you can if you like. they don't care what you do, as long as they have people in the seats. props are notoriously tight anyhow. but believe me, if you're propping and you're dealt AKs on the button, you're not folding to a normal sized raise.

if you're a great player. i know i'd have no problem losing a grand playing 15/30 limit shorthanded against really good competition.

the problem is you end up playing in the toughest games, not the juicy games you wish you were in. but yeah, it sure does sound fun at first.

To expand: As soon as the game gets good, regular players want to sit and the floor yanks you. Boo, hiss.
