Re: one of the truly great slowplays of all time

also I noted that you said in your previous post that you think AA needed to bet the flop. I think you should go back and read the analysis that I and others posted earlier in the thread.

If I had the AA I certainly wouldn't lead out with a bet on that flop. I also wouldnt fold on the turn, but I would call and likely fold on the river if the 4th spades doesnt come. The main reason you don't want to shove on the turn, is that all of the hands that have you beat are calling, and none of the hands that you are beating are calling you. So you always lose the most when behind, and win the least when ahead.

Also note that it is very unlikely that the villain (guy who won the hand) has JJ-KK when he raises the turn, for 2 reasons. 1) with JJ-KK he almost certainly would have made a continuation bet on the flop AND 2) that board is even scarier for JJ-KK than it is for AA. So I would pretty much eliminate JJ-KK from his range when he makes those actions on the flop and river. I would highly tilt his range towards straights (hands with a T); sets (pkt pairs 66-99); and spade flushes (AsKs-JsTs).

Didn't notice it was 6 max... ...I just dont get re-raising with k10...it won this hand but how many times is it crushed? Guess I am too tight...or rely on preflop play too much...

Good points Jim, I'm like Monkey, I didn't notice it was 6 handed either....

Still, I have to say that I play a lot of short handed live games, and I would have to play a lot of hands with someone before I am playing a hand against them this way. It's possible he has a lot of hands with him and new where he stood. If that's so, I'm in awe of the ability.

From my initial review the hand just screams to me that both of these guys are not upper echelon players. I still doubt either one is profitable, unless the winner of the hand is just an absolutely sick player.

Cliffs notes: Felted_Good is either the next Kenny Tran or the next drunk donking off his pay check at the local 3-6 game.
