I checked because I was worried utg had AK. I had put CO on 55, 77, or 88+, does that mean I should have bet the river after they both checked? Do you think there's enough of a chance he'd fold a better hand there (probably not QQ or KK, but 99-TT maybe?)
If utg wasn't such a donk he'd have bet out on the riv and maybe CO would have had to fold being in the middle and I could have won the whole thing.

Seeing that I suck at LHE online, I check the river. Given the scare card of the A and a flush draw that may have hit, I can't see many good reasons to bet here. A weak A may easily call you down here. Nice to know QT will chase to the river with only 2 overs. |

| Thanks, i hadn't noticed it was off. I just posted the actual hand history unconverted now, just changed my name to HERO.
It might not be as clear now, but the guy with QTo actually limp-capped the flop from UTG, then checked the flop. That's the weirdest thing, maybe, and why I couldn't bring myself to bet the river, even though I might have been able to win the whole pot by doing so.
I actually didn't even notice the backdoor flush come in. |

Or because you think you're behind and your opponent will fold often enough to make a bluff profitable?
You're not worried UTG is checking to induce a bluff; or is scared of AA/set and is planning to check/call AK? |

You're not worried UTG is checking to induce a bluff; or is scared of AA/set and is planning to check/call AK? | i think i'm ahead plenty of times. no one is folding an Ace on the river, but they might call with a worse one pair (live play is bad, believe me). and my game is one where there are plenty of folks that would have check called every street til now with KQ. and of course it might fold out that other 88 (or if he had 99, for instance).
as far as what utg is doing, why would i be afraid? he check called on the turn and river...this is more often K4 than it is AK, i think. he could be going for a c/r, but if so i'm not gonna overcall, and in some cases (if he's really predictable) i wouldn't call even if he folded out the guy in the middle. |

Just about no one is going to c/r an Ace on that board on the river, after just calling down previously.
I wouldn't read too much into the LRR. It's more often a junk type hand than anyone getting fancy with a big hand. Only if the game were tight would I really put someone on a premium hand with a LRR.

I had a feeling afterwards that I should have bet, hence this post .
Just curious, what would you have done if UTG led out when the Ace hit, AND the MP player had called, would you overcall? (I'm certain you'd call if mp folded). |

Surprising that nobody had AA or KK, which is usually when capped pf. I am agressive post flop but I don't think I would have bet the river. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
