I've never seen anyone fake that before though. He did start showing his cards for a bit but that stopped. And he did go all in with some crappy hands that sucked out. Oh well. |

I combatted this by taking as much time as possible before I acted. This usually worked. Occasionally, they'd get on a roll again and I'd have to remind them how fun this can be. |

Agreed. I've had this happen a few times in S n G's and I always get suspicious when someone says they have to leave. Just keep playing your game and bust him when you (inevitably) get a really strong hand.
Just as an aside, I had someone in my home game tourney do something similar the other night, but it wasn't a ploy. She's a newbie, so she does some strange things from time to time, but she announced that she needed to leave (really) and proceeded to go all in over and over in an attempt to get rid of her chips. Problem was she won four hands in a row (three with trash) and ended up chip leader! Frustrated the hell out of several players! Her luck did turn eventually and fortunately her losses were evenly distributed, so things worked out in the end. Luckily, this was my casual play group. |
